DISEASE, DISPOSITION AND DESTINY

 The first kiss told us

the past was being left behind

the second was so good

it almost had the future

the third had us living

in a new world.

Dis-ease is natural.

Malady accompanies

our fragile standing figures.

With Disposition

we lean into dark situations.

We fall in some ways

constantly.

Destiny, though, destiny

rides unabated cheerfully on.

We pursue it

with these prized boots

with flashing eyes

with sounds we never

made before.

The wetness of these lips

eyes open

and hearts that began

so long ago

now beating further.

Love in time

through the blood of space

pulsing through

what we’re not

waiting for anymore.

Finally

all these reasons to live.
